New 2017 Chrysler Pacifica at Lakeland Chrysler Jeep Dodge for Greenville, PA
Over the course of more than 30 years, FCA US LLC has updated the minivan segment with a variety of innovations. For the 2017 model year, Chrysler has come out with a brand new model, the Pacifica. The Pacifica replaces Chrysler's former minivan the Town & Country. The Pacifica is currently available in five models, with an additional model, the Pacifica Hybrid, becoming available in the latter half of 2016, the first hybrid minivan. With the introduction of 37 cutting edge features that are firsts for this segment, the Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid is an unprecedented advancement in minivans.
Under the Pacifica's Hood
The Pacifica is available with two different engines. One choice is the award winning Pentastar v6 gasoline engine. It is paired with a segment-exclusive TorqueFlite, nine speed automatic transmission. The other option is the minivan segments first hybrid vehicle. The 3.6 liter V6 engine, which comes standard on every Pacifica, generates 287 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque. The engine is coupled with a nine-speed automatic transmission. Halfway through the model year, Automatic engine stop-start functionality will be added. This feature will help save gas when the car isn't in motion. In an effort to deliver a high-end and comfortable experience, the Pacifica is designed to generate low levels of vibration and road noise to create a "vault-like" interior environment. All models of the Pacifica come standard with Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) to elevate the experience making it ideal for everyday use as well as extended outings.
